But don't think its because we don't want your feedback! Getting Started Guide

After signing up, your OtherInbox is ready to receive messages right away. However, you may be looking at an empty OtherInbox and wondering what to do next. This guide will show you how OtherInbox works. If you already know how to use OtherInbox, by all means, go right ahead! If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to "email us(Email OtherInbox support)":mailto:help@otherinbox.com or visit our "support site(OtherInbox support)":http://help.otherinbox.com where you can search previous topics, post your own questions, and vote for new features. Please also take a look at our "frequently asked questions(FAQ)":http://go.otherinbox.com/faq for additional getting started tips. Trying out our features does no good without any messages, so let's start by creating a few to work with. h4. Send messages to your OtherInbox from your main email account You can create unlimited OtherInbox email addresses, but we're going to start by sending to a few:
delete@*YOURNAME*.otherinbox.com
save@*YOURNAME*.otherinbox.com
lock@*YOURNAME*.otherinbox.com
!/entry_images/gs_addresses.jpg(Sending mail to your OtherInbox account)! h4. Automatic mailbox creation In a few moments, check your OtherInbox and you should see three new mailboxes. They will be found in the second column, or the mailbox list. They will be called Delete, Save, and Block. This matches the first part of the OtherInbox email addresses you just created on the fly. No need to set them up! *Note:* To refresh your OtherInbox, click the OtherInbox logo at the top left-hand corner. !/entry_images/gs_mailboxes.jpg(OtherInbox mailboxes)! h4. Deleting messages Click on the Delete mailbox in the mailbox list. The message list will show the subject line, date, and sender for each message. The selected message can be viewed in the message reading area below. Above the reading area, click the Delete button. !/entry_images/gs_delete_msg.jpg(Deleting a message from your account)! Where did it go? To find it, let's look at the first column. This is the folder list. Right now, you are in the Inbox folder. Click on the Deleted folder and you will find the Delete mailbox with the message you just deleted. Want it back in your Inbox folder? Click the Move to Inbox button above the message. !/entry_images/gs_mailboxes_deleted.jpg(OtherInbox deleted messages mailbox)! h4. Saving messages for later Maybe you have a message you want to save for later? Click on the Save mailbox. Select the message you want to save, then click the Save button above it. Where is it now? In the Saved folder. You can always move it back to the Inbox if you want. !/entry_images/gs_save_msg.jpg(Save a message)! h4. Permanently blocking addresses One of the powerful features of OtherInbox is the ability to block all! Let's say you give one of your OtherInbox email addresses to a newsletter, and they sell your email address. Because you have unlimited OtherInbox email addresses, you can just block it and never get any messages from anyone again! Let's block the entire Block mailbox. Select the Block mailbox and click the Block All button above the message list. You have now blocked this mailbox completely! !/entry_images/gs_block_msg.jpg(Block all messages from an address)! Try sending a new message to block@*YOURNAME*.otherinbox.com. They will never show up in your Inbox again. No need to unsubscribe, hoping that it works. Just Block All! If you've changed your mind, or accidentally blocked something by mistake, the blocked messages can always be found in the Blocked folder. Or, if necessary, you can also "unblock the mailbox":http://gsfn.us/t/lwn as well. Think of a service that sends you messages you don't need right away, such as notifications from Facebook or Twitter. Do you have a newsletter you receive daily but don't need to read every day? Do you get weekly coupons from stores you only shop at every few months? Start by changing your email addresses with these social networks, online stores, newsletters, or anyone who sends you automated messages that clutter your main email account. Don't let these messages get lost or fill your primary inbox, making it impossible to find real messages from family, friends, and coworkers. Send those other messages to your OtherInbox and *cure email overload forever!*

Auto-refresh your OtherInbox! Now with printability!

This week's release includes one of our "most-requested(Idea: Auto refresh/refresh button)":http://gsfn.us/t/lww "features(Idea: Auto Inbox Update)":http://gsfn.us/t/o0c: auto-refresh. No longer must you click the OtherInbox icon at the top of the application to refresh your inbox. It all happens automatically! Auto-refreshes take place every 60 seconds. In addition, messages will be refreshed each time you open a mailbox. We'll make sure you see any new messages right away. You will also find that messages are no longer marked as read immediately. We now have a five-second timer before messages are marked as read. Do you ever receive a message with a coupon you need to print out? Another one of our "oft-requested features(Idea: Print button for email)":http://gsfn.us/t/muk included "opening a message to a larger reading area(Idea: Click a message to open it fullscreen or at least in a tab or window)":http://gsfn.us/t/mxc for printing. You will now find a new Print button above the message that will open it in a new window or tab, perfect for printing. Last week we added the ability to have more than one email address registered with your OtherInbox account. Also, we implemented a verification process for these email addresses. Adding a new email address will result in a message from us asking you to click on a link to verify it's really you at that email address. !/entry_images/feature_verification.jpg(Verify your real email address)! Ultimately we hope to add the ability to "auto-forward messages(Idea: Support forwarding to alternate email addresses)":http://gsfn.us/t/o0o to "different email addresses(Idea: Forward to different email addresses)":http://gsfn.us/t/o0p based on what mailbox they are addressed to. It's been a busy week, and we have a lot more in store that we can't wait to show our users. A big *THANK YOU!* to all of our users who have provided us with great suggestions and ideas on our "support site(OtherInbox Help)":http://help.otherinbox.com. Please feel free to vote for ideas you like to help us prioritize what to work on next!

Automatically sort your Craigslist messages

We already filter your mailing lists like Yahoo! and Google Groups into separate mailboxes. Now we sort and filter "Craigslist(Craigslist)":http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites messages as well. After "turning the filter on(Question: How do I automatically sort my Craigslist messages?)":http://gsfn.us/t/og3, just use craigslist [at] yourname.otherinbox.com for everything you post on Craigslist. Make sure to choose the option to anonymize your email address. !/entry_images/feature_craigslist_email.jpg(Craigslist email address configuration)! We use the anonymized email address for the mailbox name. A message to sale-420723 [at] craigslist.org creates the *Craigslist Sale-420723* mailbox. After these mailboxes are created, you can "rename them(Question: How do I change the name of a mailbox?)":http://gsfn.us/t/ocx however you wish. Change *Craigslist Sale-420723* to *DVD Collection* to keep all the messages from people wanting to buy your DVDs together. Save time, make money, and start buying Blu-rays! As usual, many thanks to our users for the great suggestions! Visit our "support site(OtherInbox Help)":http://help.otherinbox.com to vote for ideas you like and help us prioritize what we work on next.

Out of the Inbox Thinking

OtherInbox would like to share some out of the box ways we use our OtherInbox accounts. In addition to giving you back control of your regular email and organizing your life a little more, there are many new discoveries and uses you will find. Here are a few tricks for you to try. Please reach out and tell us ways you may use your OtherInbox! bq. Whenever I find something that looks interesting online, but I don't have time to read through it at the moment, I email the URL to read-this[at]yourname.otherinbox.com. This is especially handy with the iPhone's "email this page" feature. When I log on to OI, I have a handy list of stuff to waste my time. :) ??-- Matt Buck, OtherInbox?? bq. This year when I sent out our New Year's Eve Party invites, I decided to ask guests to RSVP to my OI email address. One, I didn't want the clutter in my already-cluttered gmail inbox. Even more importantly, I wanted one centralized place where all the RSVPs would live so that a few days before the party I could easily make a count of guests coming in one fell swoop. I know that people usually use Evite or Socializr for invites, but frankly I hate them both. For Evite, I hate that guests have to go to a Web site -- I find that hugely annoying myself. And I hate template invites in general -- they never seem to convey my personality or the vibe of the party. I like the clean, minimalism of an email. But I wanted the convenience of a centralized RSVP dump. So using my OI email works great! ??-- L. Walker, OtherInbox user?? bq. I am in the process of setting up an OtherInbox account for my church. They created a domain and I am adding that to an OtherInbox account. We will be using this for event-specific email addresses because no one ever wants to be the contact person for events since they have to give out their email address! ??-- Deacon Bradley, OtherInbox?? bq. There is a local "pasta maker":http://www.gourmettexaspasta.com that sells fantastic homemade durum wheat pasta. He sends a message every week with recipes and where he will be that weekend. As much as I love pasta, I don't buy it every week. I have these messages marked as read and saved as soon as they arrive in my OtherInbox. Now when it's time to buy some more pasta, I know that there's a coupon in my Saved folder. I don't need a notification that I got a message from The Pastaman. I don't even need to see the mailbox as I scroll down my list of mailboxes. It's there when I need it, and out of sight when I don't. ??-- Hoon Park, OtherInbox??

Don't take our word for it!

Below are some comments from real OtherInbox users on "Facebook":http://www.facebook.com, "Twitter":http://twitter.com, our blog, and other social sites talking about their experiences. We are thankful for the great community of users we have. Your comments and feedback help us build our product to serve you the best we can. Thanks to everyone for your support and participation! bq. OtherInbox just rocks - it forwards the first mail from each account, but after that only daily digests. ??-- "@w0nk0":http://twitter.com/w0nk0/statuses/1036525541?? bq. Loving otherinbox...it makes life so much easier... ??-- Facebook comment?? bq. Trying to clear my mail from regular mail I don't want. Otherinbox is great for that. Unsubscribing helps too :) ??-- "@deluzione":http://twitter.com/deluzione/statuses/1036757380?? bq. I use OtherInbox this much because it rocks. What a great product! I am sure I have well over 100 folders set up. It's absolutely amazing. My spam has decreased dramatically and I have so much control over my email! ??-- "OtherInbox Blog Comment":http://blog.otherinbox.com?? bq. I'm already using OtherInbox for quiet a while now and I like this service. At first, I was dumbfounded because I don't know what to do with OtherInbox but as the day goes on I really like OtherInbox. OtherInbox prevents spam in my true email. Whenever I try a certain service, I always use my OtherInbox account Not my real email account. Why? Because OtherInbox can block a certain mailbox and prevent it from coming again. I delete and I block. That's it. ??-- "Get Satisfaction comment":http://getsatisfaction.com/otherinbox/topics/my_experience_with_otherinbox?? bq. For me its all about organization. I get tons of notifications emailed to me and I would miss a lot of stuff w/o OtherInbox. ??-- "@KathleenLD":http://twitter.com/KathleenLD/statuses/1036979340?? bq. It took me a few weeks to start using my OtherInbox, but now that I have started, I really love it! ??-- "@soundz714":http://twitter.com/soundz714/statuses/1036967591?? bq. OtherInbox provides steller support... ??-- "@snafilter":http://twitter.com/snafilter/statuses/1036391649?? bq. From what I have read so far it sounds great... ??-- Facebook comment?? bq. Very cool service. I've been doing something functionally equivalent by creating ad hoc addresses within one of my domains and using Outlook's rules to sort incoming messages into folders, but this is much easier. ??-- "Get Satisfaction comment":http://getsatisfaction.com/otherinbox/topics/very_cool_service_intuitive_and_powerful?? bq. I couldn't praise highly enough! ??-- "@arthur_alston":http://twitter.com/arthur_alston/statuses/1035009764?? bq. Wonderful site. I have > 3 other email addresses and others at different sites and this is honestly the most organized my email has ever been. I have to say that this is probably the most genius and innovative idea for email I've seen. Good thing Google didn't make this idea first or I'd never have found you guys. Keep it up! ??-- "Get Satisfaction comment":http://getsatisfaction.com/otherinbox/topics/fantabulous_site?? bq. I use OtherInbox to control all of my "companies that I don't really want to read your email but sort of I do" emails ??-- "@breppy":http://twitter.com/breppy/status/1036842424?? bq. I would like to congratulate OtherInbox with not only providing an excellent service, but also with some of the best support I have had in a long time. I have many different accounts and am part of a fair number of different mailing lists. OtherInbox has allowed me to receive all of the updates, notifications, and other emails from each of them without having to worry about my regular e-mail box being filled with it all. Not only that, but so far my use of the OI service has been largely incident free. I have had mediocre customer support from a lot of companies and services lately and am glad to see one that not only provides great support the few times that questions or concerns arise, but that also replies in an extremely fast manner. My compliments to OtherInbox. I can't wait to see where this service is taken in the future. ??-- "Get Satisfaction comment":http://getsatisfaction.com/otherinbox/topics/excellent_service_excellent_support??
